Stasis
They never tell you what it’s like
To fall into a vast abyss
And float in nothingness
While you sleep in deep space
Spinning in an endless circle
A mental wheel of many spokes
Folding over itself
Into the cocoon of my existence
Passing the time until awakening
When I will emerge
As though I am a chrysalis
Suddenly bursting into new life
But until the protective casing breaks
I am in stasis
